Barrier Tech was officially formed in 2003 as a fence erecting company with the Directors and shareholders being Mr. Sean Jennings and Mr. Shaun Stewart, a partnership still existing today in 2016 with both Directors active and responsible for the companies performance and responsibilities.
From 2003 to 2006 Barrier Tech operated on a supply and install basis, securing our materials from manufacturers. We then progressed to manufacturing in 2006 with the purchase of our own Diamond mesh machines and other necessary machines to compliment the range. With our production we were able to secure projects such as Zimplats Ngezi mine and were permanently based there from 2007 through to 2013, a very exciting and challenging time with all types of fencing installed.
In 2011 Barrier Tech purchased the machinery for the manufacture of Field fence, a product marketed in Zimbabwe as Mhuka Fence, Square mesh, Livestock or Field fence. This product has allowed the general population access to a very cheap and effective type of fencing easy to transport and erect in the rural areas as well as Game parks and sanctuaries with or without the addition of electric strands.
